Dynasty Fantasy Rankings
I am not a member of a dynasty fantasy league for football but would like to be. My friends aren't into fantasy that much to commit to something like this. I was on Rotoworld today and saw an article that I thought was rather interesting on how they rank the top fantasy quarterbacks and running backs.
The top 3 quarterbacks are Peyton Manning, Brady and interestingly Roethlisberger. I am not sure if there is anyone better than Rosthlisberger to rank there but there is obviously a big drop off from 2 to 3.
The two best young quarterbacks are Jay Cutler and Vince Young. Cutler looks to be primed for a major a la Brees breakout next year. He has been putting up some great yardage on a bad and underachieving team. They won't be bad this long especially with a QB this good. Young will be a beast with rushing yardage and should be decent in a short passing game. He is very talented and if he can actually put together an even moderate long arm game he could be something really special. I wouldn't count on it next year though. He will be a good QB 2 but I wouldn't count on him as my QB 1.
The top 3 running backs are Adrian Peterson, Steven Jackson and Tomlinson. I would personally rank Tomlinson ahead of Jackson. Jackson has been consistent but he hasn't really been awe inspiring. I guess he is still young, at 25, and might still have room for improvement.
I think the two best young running backs that will climb the charts over the next couple of years are Maurice-Jones Drew and Reggie Bush. They are both amazing players and exciting athletes to watch. The load they will carry this upcoming season will be a huge determinant on how much they will climb the charts. Fred Taylor is on his way out and Drew looks like he is primed to step up next year. He will be a fine pickup in any fantasy league this season.
